What ingredients are used in Estee Lauder makeup products?

Oooo, this question is right up my alley since I work as an R%26amp;D Technician for a company that makes products for the beauty industry including Estee Lauder Brands.

It depends on the product and which lable you are talking about. If you want to know what is inside a product then look at the package, there is an ingredient list on there. Sometimes you will get product names, like ';Luvitol'; which is an ingredient that makes products feel soft and gives skin/hair shine. This is an ingredient in makeup, but it too is made up of many different chemicals and botanicals so it is sometimes hard to know exactly what you are looking at. If you see a chemical and do not know what it does, do an internet search for it and I am sure you will find information on it online.

If you are concerned about an allergy to a specific compound the best thing to do is to contact the company, or shop a brand that is hypoallergenic. This means that they use ingredients that are proven to cause allergic reactions in few people (notice I said few people and not NO people). If you know a specific ingredient you are allergic to then you can write an e-mail to the customer service department on the brand's website and explain that you wish to know which of their products contain that allergen.

If you are looking for products that are more natural, look elsewhere. Estee Lauder uses alot of different chemical compounds in their makeup, which is ok, but not everyone likes that. Brands that say ';certified organic'; can be better but may also contain chemicals with Hazardous Materials index's. You want to look for brands that say all natural, or 100% botanical. If you have allergies (seasonal or plant allegies) sometimes these products can contain ingredients that will irritate you. It is all about ballance.

Hope this helped a little. If you had a question about a specific ingredient I would be better able to help you. What ingredients are used in Estee Lauder makeup products?
how am i supposed to know i didn't make the stuff! duhWhat ingredients are used in Estee Lauder makeup products?
Tough question. Which specific EL makeup products? As one of the 2 cosmetic giants in the world, EL makes numerous products, as well as own these subsidaries:

--MAC

--Jo Malone

--Aramis, Inc.

--Aveda Corp.

--Stila Makeup

--Jane Cosmetics

--Prescriptives, Inc.

--Estee Lauder Cosmetics

--Bobbi Brown Essentials

--Clinique Laboratories, Inc.

--Donna Karan Beauty Products

--Creme de la Mer Facial Treatment Line

--Origins Natural Resources Cosmetics

Your best options:

Look at the ingredients list, which the specific EL Cosmetics, like their skincare line, does not list their ingredients on or inside the box, or on their package inserts. This could very well be part of their ';trade secrets,'; which the FDA can grant a company ';trade secret status,'; which means the secret ingredients don't have to appear on the label.

If you have a history of sensitivity to cosmetics, the phrase ';....and other ingredients'; should raise a red flag.

Familiarize yourself with some of the major, common cosmetic ingredients, which the short list is still too long to list here. Check out these 2 books:

1. A Consumer's Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients (ISBN 9780609803677)

2. Beauty (ISBN 9780761101864)

If you can't afford to buy these 2 books, then call up the company/subsidary and ask them. After you write down the list of names (whatever they're willing to tell you), go to your local bookstore or library and flip through for the answers. Although their active ingredients can be a legal secret from the competitors, as a consumer, you're not asking for the chemical formulas or ratios, just the main general ingredients.
I tried to google it for you to provide a website, there are quite a few websites with info. You should try Google.
