A question about the makeup products YOU use?

How much have your makeup products cost you? What products do you have in your makeup bag? Just curious, as I haven't been interested in makeup in the past, but now enjoy wearing it, and want to buy a lot of cosmetics but don't want to spend TOO much money...but i want GOOD brands.A question about the makeup products YOU use?
I'm a drugstore makeup buyer for the most part, but I have found that Urban Decay makes a fantastic eyeshadow primer. I can now make it through a full day with my eyeshadow in exactly the place where I left it that morning. No creases, no smudging (unless I rub it of course). Urban Decay also makes some amazing, gorgeous eyeshadows. They run around 12-17 dollars, but they are beautiful and quality.

If you head to your local mall, you might be able to find a M.A.C. counter in one of the department stores or even a MAC store itself. This is another quality makeup brand and their staff is usually GLAD to help you find a color that you like and let you test most products. MAC isn't inexpensive, but it's not outrageous either.

You can also check out Sephora stores. These are stores devoted to several makeup brands. Usually the staff members can help you find any specific item you're looking for (like lip stain in general), or even just a product in a certain color (like blue eyeshadow to match a dress) Sephora's ladies are also usually able to make recommendations based on what you've liked in the past.

MAC, Sephora, and Urban Decay all have websites to give you an idea of weather its a style of makeup you'd like to track down.

If you're interested in bright eyeshadows, you may even want to check out makeup intended for ladies of color. There is a brand carried in Walgreens stores in my area that produces some brilliant colors.A question about the makeup products YOU use?
well just remember that it doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg to be good.

for clothes, i do think how much it costs usually relates to the quality of it, but not as much for makeup. like the more expensive brands like MAC are really amazing, but i also have tons of makeup from target, walgreen's, and long's drugstore that i love.

the one thing i can recommend that you get a good quality brand of is brushes. your tools you use to put your makeup on will totally determine how your makeup looks on you. so you can still look great with $2 makeup on if you put it on with a good brush, just like you could have $30 makeup on that looks not so good if you put it on with cheap brushes. i used to use paintbrushes to put my makeup on, and with certain products i still do, but i recently got a whole set of MAC brushes, and i can tell you right now that it really does make a difference. i didn't think it would but it does. it just goes that little extra mile to make you look great.

my favorite brands are MAC, cover girl, clinique, clarins, maybelline, revlon, and many others. i would recommend you just try them all out, slowly of course, like just whenever you happen to see a new product (or new to you at least) that looks good to you. because everyone has different favorites for different reasons! so you should find your own! it's actually really fun buying new makeup. brands and products. so try away!
i love clinique makeup.. you can buy it at macys.. but it costs a little bit..

i have about $250 in my makeup bag and i hate to lose my makeup bag.. i lost it a month ago and i had to rebuy it, when i just bought all kinds of new makeup right before i lost it.. that sucked..
I would hate to value the makeup I have in my bag(s) ! I try just about everything. I am a big fan of MAC at the moment as the colors are right for me. Not cheap though. I also like the Benefit range. The really fun thing is to go and experiment and find out what suits you. You can ask the consultant at the counter for a makeover which is free. I have always spent more on products which protect my skin, moisturiser sun block etc than I have done on makeup, and you should take that into consideration as well.
Well lemme just tell you that no one should be spending real money for quality on anything but shadows and foundations.

In those two arenas - you get what you pay for (for the most part)

With shadows - usually the more expensive - the more vibrant pigment and finer ground product - which leads to a longer lasting shadow (cuz u should use less).

Foundations and powders because cheap ';cover up'; can have you looking a mess in a couple hours and help break out your skin because ingredients aren't quality ingredients.

SO with that said...make up is basically make up. Mascaras, liners, lip liners, lip gloss, lipstick - its pretty much all the same. Only difference would be waterproof or no waterproof -budge or no budge, you know?

Many drugstore brand cosmetics (like Loreal) are owned by big name brand make up companies (like Lancome). Loreal has great quality make up for a much cheaper price than it's parent company Lancome.

For the most part - make up is more about the skills of the artist than the product they are using (with a few exceptions like the ones mentioned above)

Hope this helps you. By the way - me personally - I buy what I love. Drug store or not. I got a little bit of everything - from MAC to Maybelline : )

wow, i spend quite a bit on makeup.

i'm a little obsessed鈾?br>

i usually get: MAC, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Smashbox, Clinique and Stila.

they are great but are $15+ for every product.

i think if you want quality makeup that isnt outrageous MAC and Clinique are great. i love Clinique because it is so natural but MAC is amazing for special occasions and bright colors.

i have used a lot of drugstore makeup in the past, but they generally arent as good. and are worse for your skin. but i think Almay and Rimmel are very good, and i have a bunch of products from them.

some color of eyeshadow- $14 (for MAC)
